Gov. Haslam signs legislation to expand the FastTrack incentive program

Governor Bill Haslam signed this week the legislation passed by the Tennessee General Assembly that will expand the FastTrack incentive program.  The legislation creates the FastTrack economic development program, which would provide grants and loans to local governments, industrial development boards, local economic development organizations or other political subdivisions of the state, to be used to facilitate economic development activities that were previously not eligible for FastTrack infrastructure development or job training assistance funds.  Economic development professionals in collaboration with our state organization, the Tennessee Economic Development Council, worked to educate our legislators on how this program would enhance job creation and capital investment in Tennessee.
