More Hickman County Flood Recovery Information

Hickman County Mayor Steve Gregory has established a new and improved Hickman County flood disaster website, http://www.hickmanco.com/ema/disaster2010/ , for local residents, business and other interested parties to find updated information on road conditions, water system status, relief and assistance available and how people can donate or volunteer to help. Hickman County was one of the hardest hit counties during the floods of last weekend and also sustained damage from tornadoes that were part of the storm system. Hickman, Davidson, Cheatham and Williamson Counties were the first 4 counties to officially be declared disaster areas by President Obama. Conditions are improving, but it will take a long time to recovery completely. Highway 100 at the Mill Creek Bridge reopened yesterday. Remember that road shoulders have been eroded and can be much more narrow than before. We have made a lot of progress this week, but stay safe out there!
